An award-winning storyteller and popular children's & family entertainer known to many simply as THE STORY GUY, Hardy Garrison has been enthusiastically "spinnin' yarns, pullin' legs, and bustin' guts" since 1983. Adults and students of all ages will delight in his animated retellings of multicultural folktales, fractured fairy tales, pourquoi (how & why) stories, and trickster tales, as well as other rollicking narratives.

Presented in an energetic and humorous telling style, THE STORY GUY's shows feature a colorful chorus of character voices, and are often infused with a healthy dose of audience participation. Performances are also flexible in length to accommodate programming needs, and can be geared to a particular theme, if desired.

In addition to his popular storytelling performances, Hardy offers artist-in-the-school residencies, lively storytelling workshops for both students and adults, and in-service presentations for educators on using storytelling in the classroom.

Hardy serves on the Board of Directors of the Northlands Storytelling Network and as the Wisconsin State Liaison to the National Storytelling Network. He is the 2000 recipient of the annual Lucy Beck Award, which recognizes noteworthy contributions and service in support of the art of storytelling in the state of Wisconsin.
